Buying in the Pure app works the way it works on the website. You open a product, read its order book, add the item to your cart, and go through buy checkout. The bids and asks you see on a product are the live order book, the same one the website shows. You pay by bank wire or ACH on any order, and card and Apple Pay are available on Pure Priority orders. Buyers pay no marketplace fee. Every item is tested by Pure before it ships to you, and shipments are insured in both directions.
How do I find a price in the app?
Open any product and the app shows its order book: the bids, which are offers to buy, and the asks, which are offers to sell. The lowest ask is the price you can buy at that moment, from the sellers currently posting. Spot moves during the trading day, and premiums on Pure are quoted per troy ounce.
How do I place a buy order in the app?
Add the item to your cart and go through buy checkout, which is the same checkout the website uses. You pay after a match, not before. This describes how the marketplace works and is not advice about when to buy or sell.
How do I pay in the app?
Bank wire and ACH work on any order. For a wire, the app shows you the wire instructions. For ACH, you link a bank account inside the app. Card payment is available on Pure Priority orders only, and it carries a 2.9% surcharge. Apple Pay is also available on Pure Priority orders only.
What does a buyer pay on top of the item price?
Buyers pay no marketplace fee on Pure, in the app and on the website alike. A card payment on a Pure Priority order carries the 2.9% surcharge. Bank wire and ACH carry no surcharge. Outbound shipping is $25 on orders under $10,000 and free above that.
What happens to my order after I pay?
The item goes to Pure before it goes to you. Pure tests it and a person checks it, and only then does it ship on to you. Shipments are insured in both directions. Your buy orders sit in the app with a detail view on each one, and the app sends you a push notification as an order moves from one status to the next.
