Collect Pure is a US-only online marketplace for gold, silver, platinum, palladium, and rare coins. It was founded in 2022 and came through Y Combinator's Summer 2023 batch. The legal entity behind it is PM Technologies Corporation. Pure was founded by Trey Benedict and David Gordillo.

Buyers and sellers both complete document verification when they sign up, which takes about 15 minutes. Items are checked too. Every item sold on Pure is tested by Pure and checked by a person before it ships to the buyer, and shipments are insured in both directions up to $125,000. The seller fee schedule is published, and every bid and every ask on a product is visible to everyone before anyone commits. If something about an order is unclear, Pure's support team answers questions.

Who runs Collect Pure?

Pure was founded in 2022 by Trey Benedict and David Gordillo, and operates as PM Technologies Corporation. Pure came through Y Combinator's Summer 2023 batch. It serves the United States only and runs on the web.

How do I know the other side of my trade is real?

Everyone on Pure completes document verification before trading, buyers and sellers alike. That takes about 15 minutes at signup. On top of that, no item moves between two people sight unseen: the seller ships to Pure first, Pure tests it, and a person checks it before it goes out to the buyer. You can also track the order status in your Pure dashboard throughout the entire process.

What happens to my money and my item in between?

A buyer pays after a match, not when placing a bid. The item goes to Pure before it goes to the buyer, and it only ships onward once it clears the verification check. Shipments are insured both ways up to $125,000 and go out with tracking. A seller's payout is automatic once the item checks in and verifies or sells, with no request to file.

Are Pure's fees published?

Yes. Buyers pay no marketplace fee. Sellers pay a percentage set by product type and quarterly tier. At the Copper tier the published rates are a 0.75% base rate, 1.00% on the platinum, silver, and palladium schedule, and 1.5% on numismatic coins. The full table, by tier and product type, is on the selling tiers page. Card payments on Pure Priority orders carry a 2.9% surcharge; wire and ACH carry none.
